The Role

As a Deputy Manager of the home, you will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring that the home and staff operate in line with Ofsted regulations and deliver the highest quality of care and safeguarding for children and young people we support.

You will help to support the Registered Manager to lead, motivate, and develop a staff team, while ensuring that all the young people in our care have their needs met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring that the home meets all regulatory, safeguarding, and compliance standards.
  • Work alongside the Registered Manager to support the staff team in delivering therapeutic, child-centred care on a day-to-day basis.
  • Build positive relationships with young people, families, and external professionals.
  • Help to develop and contribute to the implementation of care plans tailored to each young person's needs to ensure they are met.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding policies, and company procedures.
  • You should have a solid understanding of and be committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion in both the workplace (with staff and young people) and within service delivery.
  • Act as a role model for staff, promoting positive practice and professional standards.
  • Participate in an on-call rota and provide hands-on support where required.
About You

We are looking for a dedicated, passionate person who has at least 2 years' experience working as a Deputy Manager in a children's home and can demonstrate a strong understanding of children's regulations and quality standards.

Essential Requirements

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Care in Young People. You will be expected to undertake your Level 5 Diploma in Young People and Adults (Roots of care work with an external company that can facilitate this). You will be expected to be working towards the completion of this qualification once in post.
