Job description

Are you passionate about making a difference in children’s lives, with the skills and drive to lead and inspire others? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our leadership team as Deputy Manager, Deputy SENCO, and Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO).

This is a unique opportunity to support the strategic development of our setting, ensuring that every child receives the highest quality care, education, and safeguarding provision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputy Manager: Support the Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting, lead and inspire staff, promote outstanding practice in all areas, ensure compliance with Ofsted and statutory requirements, and build strong relationships with children, families, and external agencies.
  • Deputy SENCO: Support the SENCO in coordinating SEND provision across the setting, work with staff to identify, support, and review children with additional needs, contribute to EHCP processes, external referrals, and tailored learning plans, and promote inclusive practice and ensure every child can thrive.
  • Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO): Act as a first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensure staff understand and follow safeguarding policies, maintain accurate and confidential safeguarding records, and liaise with external agencies to keep children safe and supported.
About You

We are looking for someone who is experienced in early years/education leadership (minimum Level 3 Childcare qualification, Level 5 desirable), knowledgeable in safeguarding, SEND, and the EYFS framework, organised, approachable, and committed to high standards, skilled in building positive relationships with children, families, and staff, and passionate about inclusion, safeguarding, and child development.
