Job summary

Horizon Care Ltd in the Central region seeks a Deputy Manager to join a children's home, ensuring high-quality care and a nurturing environment for looked-after children.

The role requires leadership, Level 3 in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce, a Full UK Manual Driving Licence and at least 1 year in a senior residential care setting, with shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Full UK Manual Driving licence
• Level 3 in Children’s and Young Peoples Workforce Qualification
• At least 1 year experience as a Senior Residential Care worker in a Children’s Home setting
• Ability to be a great role model to looked after children
• Be a strong leader with good team management skills, and ability to build trusting relationships with staff and the looked after children
• Flexibility to work shifts including evenings and weekends and sleep ins and bank holidays

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Home Manager in all aspects of running the home, including compliance, safeguarding, and quality assurance, ensuring alignment with values and financial planning.
• Lead and inspire a team, providing supervision, appraisal, professional development and training.
• Manage the home effectively in the absence of the Registered Manager.
• Ensure a safe, homely environment and maintain high standards of care.
• Manage health and safety protocols, risk assessments and ensure training compliance for the team.
• Liaise with professionals and contribute to care planning.

As aDeputy Manager, you will support young people in the many different aspects of daily life within our homes including:
