Job summary

Horizon Care and Education is seeking a Deputy Manager in Coventry to support the Home Manager in delivering exceptional care for looked after children. You will help manage daily operations, compliance, safeguarding, and staff development within a nurturing home environment.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce, a current UK driving licence, and at least 1 year of senior residential care experience.

Qualifications

• Full UK Manual Driving licence required.
• Level 3 in Children’s and Young Peoples Workforce Qualification required.
• At least 1 year experience as a Senior Residential Care worker in a Children’s Home setting.
• Ability to be a great role model to looked after children.
• Strong leadership with the ability to build trusting relationships with staff and looked after children.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Home Manager in all aspects of running the home, including compliance, safeguarding, quality assurance, and financial planning.
• Lead and inspire a team, providing supervision, appraisal, and professional development.
• Manage the home effectively in the absence of the Registered Manager.
• Ensure a safe, homely environment and maintain high standards of care.
• Manage health and safety protocols, risk assessments and ensure team training compliance.
• Liaise with professionals and contribute to care planning.

What we’re looking for from you:
