Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children’s residential home

Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: £37,000 – £40,000 per annum

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Shift pattern: Monday – Friday (Office hours)

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager or Team Leader to join a well-established children’s residential home supporting up to four young people aged 11-18 who have experienced trauma and exploitation. The home is rated good by Ofsted and focuses on outcomes and personal goals for young people.

Your key responsibilities as the Deputy Manager:
  • Support the Registered Manager in leading a dedicated team, ensuring high standards of care.
  • Develop staff, improve care practices, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Empower staff and young people, guiding them towards positive futures.
  • Support the team by organizing shifts, leading by example, and fostering a therapeutic parenting approach.
  • Provide supervision, promote learning and development, and motivate continuous improvement.
  • Assist with training, health and safety, recruitment, HR, and administrative duties.
  • Build strong relationships with team members, families, communities, and multi-agency partners.
What you need:
  • Level 3 or 4 qualification in Residential Childcare.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in children’s residential homes and 1 year in a senior or team leader role.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes regulations (2015) and quality standards.
