Job summary

My client is driven to change children's lives for the better by providing best-in-class specialist services. We are looking for a Deputy Manager to join our growing, highly valued team. Our teams are "professional parents" who are nurturing and supportive, giving our children high levels of care, enabling them to achieve excellent outcomes, and providing therapeutic, EBD, and complex trauma support services.

Responsibilities
  1. Contributing to the young person's care plans and risk assessments, reviewing and implementing them.
  2. Forming effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate), and external agencies.
  3. Ensuring the home is kept clean and tidy, adhering to the cleaning rota, and encouraging young people's participation.
  4. Maintaining high-quality records with supervision and guidance from shift and managers.
  5. Promoting residential care work to the standards expected by Ofsted.
  6. Supporting the educational and social development of each young person and assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Programs.
  7. Meeting the emotional and physical needs of young people and maximizing development opportunities.
  8. Providing support to the deputy/manager during shifts and performing senior duties as directed.
Requirements
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People or equivalent (desirable).
  • Experience in a children's home setting (essential).
  • Passion for nurturing young people.
  • Ability to work shift patterns, including sleep-ins (rota plan provided in advance, likely 1 on, 2 off).
  • Full UK driving license (essential).
  • Candidates must be over 21 years old to meet industry regulations.
