Job summary

Thendon Resourcing Limited are seeking a Deputy Manager for a Children's Residential Home in Wolverhampton. You will support the Registered Manager day-to-day, provide direct care, and lead a supportive team to achieve high standards of safety and care for young people with complex needs.

The role offers progression to a Registered Manager position, with training and mentorship, and a strong focus on therapeutic practice, safeguarding, and quality assurance within a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Health and social care or above.
• Previous experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker or Deputy Manager within children's residential care.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding legislation.
• Experience supporting young people with EBD and complex needs or learning disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support and supervise staff, conduct appraisals, provide training and team development.
• Ensure the home meets all care and compliance standards.
• Assist with recruitment and rota planning.
• Lead by example in day-to-day care and safeguarding of children.
• Manage shift audits, reporting systems and quality checks.
• Promote therapeutic practice and the PACE model; act as liaison with external professionals and families.
