Job summary

Resicare Alliance Ltd is seeking a Deputy Manager for a children’s home in the West Midlands. You will support the Registered Manager, deputise in their absence, and lead Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers to deliver high‑quality, child‑centred care.

You will mentor staff, conduct appraisals, manage staffing rotas, and ensure compliance with safeguarding and regulatory requirements, including Ofsted standards.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Enhanced DBS check valid for working with children and young people.
• Desirable Level 5 leadership/management qualification in residential childcare.
• Experience as Team Leader or Deputy Manager is advantageous.
• Experience supervising or mentoring staff.
• Experience in a regulated residential care environment.
• Full UK driving licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in leading the home and deputise in their absence.
• Mentor, guide and supervise Team Leaders and staff to high standards.
• Conduct regular supervisions, appraisals and performance reviews.
• Assist with recruitment, induction and staff training.
• Plan and manage staff rotas to maintain safe staffing levels.
• Ensure high-quality, child-centred care is delivered consistently.
• Promote safeguarding culture and adhere to policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Ensure care plans, risk assessments and behaviour strategies are followed.
• Support audits, quality monitoring, health and safety, and planning.
• Build positive relationships with families, social workers and professionals.
