Job summary

Purosearch Ltd. is seeking a Children\'s Home Deputy Manager in Worcester (WR5) with a salary of £32,000–£38,000 dependent on experience. The post involves supporting the Registered Manager in day-to-day operations of a 3-bed EBD home and ensuring high-quality, child-centered care.

You will lead staff induction, supervision and care planning while maintaining regulatory standards and safeguarding principles. A passion for improving outcomes for children and young people is essential.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a Senior, Team Leader or Deputy Manager role within children's residential care.
• QCF/NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, Children and Young People's Services.
• Experience supporting children and young people with EBD.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding, care planning and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to mentor and develop residential care staff.
• Confidence acting in the Registered Manager's absence.
• Passion for achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the established 3-bed EBD home.
• Take responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager's absence.
• Ensure children receive safe, consistent and high-quality care.
• Support care reviews, team meetings and planning sessions.
• Lead staff inductions and provide supervision, mentoring and performance support.
• Support the development and implementation of care plans and risk assessments.
• Promote safeguarding and ensure concerns are appropriately managed and escalated.
• Support staff to deliver child-centred, nurturing and therapeutic care.
• Monitor standards of practice, records and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with the Registered Manager to maintain and improve quality standards.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and external professionals.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across the home.
• Support the development of the staff team and positive outcomes for children and young people
