Job Title: Deputy Manager
Location: Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire
Salary: £38,150 per annum
Number of Sleeps Required: Every shift includes one sleep-in
Pay Per Sleep: Included in salary
Service: Children’s Home
Service Users: YPs aged 8–18, presenting with EBD and LD
Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care (or SCQF Level 7 equivalent)
Experience in Years Required: Minimum 18 months in a children’s residential care setting
Employment Type: Permanent
Number of Beds: Varies by home (2-3 bed homes)
Location: Across North England and Scotland
Type of YPs: Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Learning Disabilities (LD), Trauma, Neglect, CSE, CCE
Ofsted Rating: Varies by home – details shared at interview
Ratio of Staff to Children: Typically 1:1 depending on needs
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager who is ready to take the next step in their leadership career within a progressive and therapeutic residential setting. You’ll have a passion for working with young people, be resilient, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You’ll also:
Have strong leadership and supervision experience
Be confident with safeguarding responsibilities and Ofsted requirements
Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Be qualified to at least Level 3 in Residential Child Care (or SCQF Level 7)
Hold a full UK Driving Licence
Be willing to work on a rota that includes 24-hour shifts and sleep-ins

Other Services: In-house clinical team, two schools, and internal training & commissioning departments

Access to Level 5 Leadership and Management in Residential Child Care after probation. Support with professional development from induction onwards.
