Job description
Overview

Birtenshaw is looking to recruit an experienced Children’s Home Deputy Manager who is passionate about supporting disabled children. You will be working in a team based in one of our Children's Homes, supporting up to 4 children with Autistic Spectrum Condition, learning disability and/or complex health needs.

Main Duties
  • Manage and supervise a team of support workers / senior support workers.
  • Deputise for Home managers and Registered Manager’s within one or more home or service within the organisation.
  • Promote the welfare of children, young people and young adults to ensure they are protected from harm.
  • Ensure and demonstrate compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies in the service you work.
  • Provide a responsive service using appropriate methods of assessment and intervention within relevant statutory and company requirements.
Hours and Working Conditions

37 hours per week on a rota basis, subject to the needs of the Company. This includes weekends and bank holidays. You may also be required to ‘sleep‑in’ from time to time; you will be notified in advance and an additional payment will be made.

Salary

Starting salary will be £29,540 per annum, rising to £33,760 per annum upon completion of probationary period and completion of a relevant Level 4 qualification.
