Job summary

A leading healthcare recruitment consultancy is seeking a dedicated Band 6 Deputy Manager for a Complex Residential Home in Guernsey. Job description

Applications are invited from committed and experienced Registered Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, or Social Workers to join the Complex Residential Home team as Band 6 Deputy Manager within the Adult Learning Disabilities Service on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.

This Home provides support for five Service Users with varying degrees of learning disabilities, sensory and physical disabilities within a community setting, including those who require 24-hour care.

As Deputy Manager, supporting the Service Manager, you will:

  1. Undertake the assessment of service users with complex needs.
  2. Guide, advise, and direct other staff in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care received by service users.
  3. Contribute to the recruitment and retention of team members.
  4. Undertake the professional development review process with identified team members. Support staff with performance issues and develop plans to address developmental needs.
  5. Act as a professional role model for junior staff, promoting high standards of practice and strong professional values.
  6. Act up as necessary in the absence of the manager.

Please note: Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system but has applied its own salary scale. The Guernsey Band 6 salary range is £46,152 to £62,310 plus an annual bonus of £1,605 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/Bank Holiday.

Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days, with full credit for NHS or Local Authority service for annual leave and sick leave.

Person requirements:

  • Registered Nurse, Social Worker, or Allied Health Professional with full UK professional registration.
  • Post-graduate Adult Learning Disabilities experience at senior Band 5 or Band 6-equivalent level.
  • Completion of a recognised Teaching and Assessing/Mentorship qualification.
  • UK driving licence.
