Job summary

Bridge Oak Care Homes in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, is looking for a compassionate Deputy Manager to join Ashworth Grange. You will lead a supportive team, oversee resident care, and ensure high standards of welfare and safety.

You’ll build strong relationships with residents, relatives and GP partners, manage day-to-day operations, plan staff rotas, and contribute to a warm, person-centred culture where every resident feels at home.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Willing to work some evenings and weekends.
• Strong communication and people skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain effective communications with the Home Manager.
• Coordinate with Residents, Relatives, Staff and external bodies.
• Oversee health and care planning, incidents and safeguarding as required.
• Supervise visits and liaise with GPs and health professionals.
• Ensure proper handover reports and staff/resident meetings.
• Support care delivery in the Deputy Manager's absence.
• Lead ongoing assessment of resident care needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Deputy Manager, you’ll play a vital role in enriching the lives of residents by:

• Maintain effective communications with the Home Manager.
• As requested by, and/or in the absence of, the Home Manager maintain effective communications with Residents, Relatives, Staff Members, Operations Manager, Divisional Office and any other concerned bodies.
• Obtain a report from the Person in Charge, and advice the Home Manager, regarding any incident/accident, and the status of any Residents whose care / health is causing concern. Complete CQC & Safeguarding alerts as required.
• Supervise visits and liaise with GPs in order to establish a good relationship between GPs / Health Care Professionals and the Care Home.
• Ensure a clear and concise handover report is given to all Staff Members.
• Arrange / participate in Staff and Resident meetings as and when required
• Take responsibility for Resident care, as designated by the Home Manager in his / her absence and the absence of the Deputy Home Manager.
• Assess social and health care needs of new Residents, and maintain on-going assessment and review of all other Residents.
