Job description

We're looking for a deputy manager to join our fantastic team here in Ilford. Working alongside our registered manager Aimee you'll ensure a high standard of care for the young people in our care.

Main Purpose of the Job:
  • To work alongside the Registered Manager to manage the service's existing workforce and resources, as well as to promote and safeguard the welfare of the young people in our care.
  • To assist the manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose.
  • To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
  • To support and manage the staff to enable them to meet the needs of the young people.
  • To undertake direct work with young people as appropriate.
  • To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints.
  • To work in partnership with other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
  • To ensure that resources are allocated appropriately, and financial records are accurately maintained.
Person Specification:
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • NVQ 3 / Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Residential Experience.
  • Team Building and Supervision Skills.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Understanding the needs of young people who have experienced trauma including managing challenging behaviours.
  • Good organisational skills.

Pay and Schedule:

Salary for a deputy manager ranges from £35,000 to £47,500 depending on experience. Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm (flexibility to cover other shifts when necessary), holidays, and on call duty shared with other managers over weekends.
