Bield Housing and Care in Edinburgh is seeking a part-time Deputy Manager for retirement housing with meals. You will support and supervise a small team to deliver tenancy and property services, while coordinating a freshly prepared meals service for tenants.
Ideally, you will have SVQ Level 2 in housing-related discipline and be ready for a Disclosure check. The role requires a genuine interest in older people and a compassionate approach within a housing setting.
At Bield, people are at the heart of everything we do. As a non-profit organisation with charitable status, we're passionate about helping older people in Scotland live independent, fulfilling lives through our housing, care, and support services.
Step into a role where you'll make a real difference every day. As Deputy Manager at Donaldson Court, you'll help ensure our tenants enjoy high-quality tenancy and property management services, along with a flexible, freshly prepared meals service that offers great value.
You'll work closely with the local manager, supporting and supervising a small, dedicated team to deliver exceptional service. This is your chance to combine leadership with hands-on impact in a warm, community-focused environment.
You will bring the ability to prioritise and organise work within a busy service, coupled with written, numerical and IT skills required to undertake basic management tasks. Ideally you will have experience of supervising an individual or small team and have experience of housing, social care or health services which you could have gained through work or volunteer experience. In order to succeed in this role you will need to bring a genuine interest in working with older people and an understanding of their needs within a housing setting.
An SVQ Level 2 in a housing related discipline is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will be required to complete a Standard Disclosure check with Disclosure Scotland.
Please note that Bield Housing & Care do not hold a licence to sponsor any visa applications at present.
Bield is a proud disability confident accredited employer. As users of the disability symbol, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the vacancy minimum criteria.
In order to help you succeed, we will make all required reasonable adjustments to facilitate your inclusion during our recruitment and selection process. Adjustments will vary from person to person; if you wish to discuss how Bield can support you throughout the recruitment process, please email hr@bield.co.uk and a member of the team will get in touch.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) which means you must disclose all unspent and relevant spent convictions on your application.
