Job description
Overview

Our client provides residential care for adults with varying needs such as Asperger's, Schizophrenia or eating disorders to age-related illnesses or Dementia. A person-centred care plan is produced tailored to each individual's specific needs.

Responsibilities
  • As a Deputy Home Manager you will be expected to report to the Home Manager, contribute to the delivery of a quality and comprehensive care service within the company. You will ensure effective running and allocation of work to a team of Nurses and Support Workers, including contributing towards managing the staff rota, performance, health and safety, infection control, conduct and attendance. Continuously striving towards achieving excellence in all areas of practice.
  • Manage the day to day delivery of a high quality, evidence-based person centred, holistic care incorporating meaningful activities for people living with mental health conditions.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of best practice and developments.
  • Oversee staffing levels to ensure that appropriate levels of staff are maintained, taking appropriate action in the event of any gaps in service.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate records in compliance with Information Governance.
  • Practice within the guidance and legal framework of CQC Regulations and the Essential standards of Quality and Safety, Infection Control, Medication and Confidentiality, and National Medical Council's standards and guidance.
  • Ensure Information Governance and confidentiality is adhered to at all times.
Qualifications
  • Hold a valid, unrestricted PIN number with the Nursing and Midwifery Council RMN /RGN.
  • Management, or leadership qualification or post-qualifying award Diploma Level 5 or working towards (or equivalent) in health care.
  • 2 years post graduate experience in a similar setting.
Experience and skills
  • Management or supervisory role within care home.
  • Specialist skills and experience in dementia / mental health.
  • People management skills including best practice in recruitment, selection and performance management.
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Conducting service reviews and report writing.
  • Good level of IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, internet based packages).
  • Development and measurement of Quality Assurance systems.
