Deputy Maintenance Team Lead

Castle Donington

£49,873.55 + £5,000 shift allowance

TXM Recruit is partnering with a prominent automation and intralogistics company to hire a Deputy Maintenance Team Lead for their highly automated facility in Castle Donington. This role involves maintaining state-of-the-art machinery to ensure seamless operations at the distribution facility along with overseeing a team of engineers.

Shift Pattern:

  • Days & Nights from 6am - 6pm and 6am - 6pm on a Suez shift pattern.
  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Mechanical and electrical maintenance and fault finding on extensive conveyance systems, automated storage & retrieval systems, shuttles and sortation equipment along with their associated controls.
    • Work across the sites Profibus, Profinet and SCADA systems. Being able to interpret data to locate faults and analyse causes.
    • As Deputy Team Leader you will act as the go to on the shop floor for the maintenance team, providing guidance and technical assistance in breakdown scenarios as well as supporting engineers through daily tasks.
    • Provide guidance and support to the onsite team of engineers.
    • Involvement and leadership of daily review meetings; analysing the previous 24 hours performance/KPI’s and action setting for the day ahead.
    • Work closely with the hotline support team on WMS/WCS/SRC/PLC challenges; acting as the main point of contact and managing the situation onsite with the team and customer.

    Skills and Qualifications Required:

    • Qualification at NVQ/BTEC/ONC/C&G Level 3 in Electro-Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Strong background in maintaining automated machinery and worked within a fast paced, high-volume environment such as FMCG, Automated Warehousing or general production.
    • Acted as a stand in team leader/mentor/deputy in previous or current roles. Or acted as an escalation or lead on high priority breakdown scenarios.
    • Understanding of maintenance KPI’s with the ability to communicate performance and identify solutions.
    • Electrical bias with experience across Profibus, Profinet, SCADA, PLC and motor control systems.
