Job summary

Elite Hotels is seeking a Maintenance Assistant / Deputy Maintenance Manager to perform a broad range of general maintenance, decorating, carpentry, service and repair work across all hotel areas. The role involves coordinating with the Maintenance Manager, prioritising tasks and supporting refurbishment projects to maintain high standards.

Candidates should have a proven track record in site maintenance, repairs and planned preventative maintenance, with professional experience and carpentry

Qualifications

• Candidates should show a track record in general site maintenance, repair work and planned preventive maintenance.
• Professional level of experience is preferred and key carpentry skills are a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive maintenance management service across guest bedrooms, public areas, conference/function rooms, Spa and Leisure, external Estate and Staff accommodation.
• Oversee the operation of the Maintenance Department and direct the maintenance team on a day-to-day basis.
• Manage refurbishment projects with the Head of Maintenance, ensuring a professional approach whether in-house or by a contractor.
• Assist with managing specific projects related to building and estate maintenance (e.g., roof works, road works, building works).
• Ensure all equipment is in working order and liaise with Heads of Department to resolve issues promptly.
• Support maintenance for staff accommodation and uphold staff welfare as a visible priority.

Maintenance Assistant Overview:

We are looking to recruit a Deputy Maintenance Manager to carry out a wide range of general maintenance, decorating, carpentry, service and repair work across all areas of the Hotel. The workload is varied and interesting. Candidates should be able to show a previous track record in general site maintenance, repair work and planned preventative maintenance. We are seeking someone with a professional level of experience and ideally key carpentry skills.

Maintenance Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• In conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, deliver a comprehensive and planned maintenance management service which covers all guest bedrooms, public areas, conference/function rooms, Spa and Leisure, external Estate and Staff accommodation.

• To oversee the management of the operation of the Maintenance Department and instruct the Maintenance team accordingly on a day-to-day basis, identifying priorities or responding to instructions by Senior Management.
• To manage, in conjunction with the Head of Maintenance, all hotel refurbishment projects, ensuring a professional approach to all projects whether completed in-house or by a Contractor.

• To assist with managing specific projects associated with all building and estate maintenance. i.e. roof works, road works, building works.
• In conjunction with the Maintenance Manager, ensure all equipment is in working order and liaise with the Heads of Department to ensure any issues are dealt with promptly.
• To support the structure of taking responsibility for all maintenance requirements concerning staff accommodation, ensuring at all times that a visible concern for staff welfare is displayed by all team members.
