As Assistant Engineering Manager, you’ll provide hands-on leadership (60% management / 40% practical) and technical expertise to ensure our building, systems, and services consistently exceed expectations. You'll work closely with the Cluster Director of Engineering and Facilities to manage assets, ensure compliance, lead CAPEX projects, and deliver sustainable business results — all while enhancing the guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the engineering function across building services, MEP systems, and life safety.

Implement and manage platforms such as Transcendent, RPM, and energy data tools.

Deliver the property’s energy, sustainability, and asset protection objectives.

Drive high standards through regular audits, team engagement, and continuous improvement.

Manage service contracts and lead CAPEX planning/execution in collaboration with finance.

Uphold health & safety regulations and emergency procedures.

Inspire and develop a proactive, high-performing maintenance team.

About You



  • 2+ years’ experience in hotel engineering/facilities management.




  • Technical qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering preferred.




  • In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, building fabric, and life safety infrastructure.




  • Familiarity with UK legislation related to health, safety, and the environment.




  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.




  • Membership in a professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IWFM) is a plus.
