Role Overview

As part of the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology Network (SYBP), this role involves managing the Haematology Laboratories across Barnsley and Rotherham Hospital sites, and acting as the Deputy Blood Science Laboratory Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work closely with Biochemistry and Blood Transfusion colleagues to form a service management team.
  2. Manage operational service provision, staffing, human resources, and budgetary duties for the Haematology service.
  3. Support the Automated Blood Sciences Manager as the deputy Blood Sciences manager.
  4. Maintain current services and facilitate the transition of hospital Haematology services into Essential Service Laboratories.
  5. Oversee the Haematology service across both sites and assist in managing Blood Sciences alongside the Biochemistry service lead.
