A leading metrology company specializing in calibration and measurement solutions across the UK and Europe is looking to hire a Lab Support Engineer / Deputy Lab Manager / Calibration Support Engineer.

Location: Within commuting distance to Leicester

Role Overview: The successful candidate will support the lab’s compliance with ISO17025, assist with audits, and drive improvements in calibration systems and methods.

Ideal Candidate: Someone with an engineering background and experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Technical Director and Head of Labs
  • Maintain and audit the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Support field engineers with calibration knowledge and training
  • Manage calibration artefacts and maintain accurate records
  • Assist with annual UKAS external audits and ISO17025 compliance
  • Contribute to developing new calibration methods and systems
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and customer support teams
  • Deliver internal training and serve as a technical contact
  • Be within commuting distance to Leicester laboratory
Requirements
  • Understanding of ISO17025 is essential
  • Qualification or degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., Metrology, Optical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering) is advantageous but not mandatory
