Overview

Abbeyfield provides supported housing for individuals looking to maintain their independence without the burden of home maintenance. As Deputy House Manager Chef in our Abbeyfield North Wales team, you will ensure the wellbeing, health, and safety of our residents while fostering a homely, welcoming, and safe environment within the house. The preparation of nutritious meals throughout the day is central to the role as you play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards that Abbeyfield is renowned for, enriching the lives of our residents in every possible way. Your role is based primarily at our Abbeyfield house in Llanfairfechan, but you will occasionally need to work at our Abbeyfield houses in Llandudno or Abergele.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare nutritious meals throughout the day, maintaining high standards and contributing to the wellbeing, health, and safety of residents.
  • Foster a homely, welcoming, and safe environment within the house.
  • Step up and lead on day-to-day operations, deputising for the House Manager when necessary.
  • Support compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation to keep the House compliant.
  • Work as part of the team at Abbeyfield North Wales, with primary location in Llanfairfechan and occasional work at Llandudno or Abergele.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience delivering a daily nutritious & varied meal service (to the House residents) within a pre-determined budget.
  • An understanding of relevant Health & Safety legislation, ensuring the House is always compliant.
  • Ability to step up and lead on day-to-day operations, deputising for the House Manager when necessary.
