Job summary

The Lakes Care Centre in South Cerney, Gloucestershire is seeking a Deputy Home Manager to support the Home Manager in day-to-day operations. The role covers rota planning, recruitment, inductions and training, plus performance management to uphold care standards.

We require a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and experience in elderly care; willingness to pursue Level 4/5. Attractive benefits include pension, life cover, and DBS, with 30 days holiday pro rata and a 37.5

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent is required.
• Willingness to work towards Level 4 or Level 5.
• Previous management experience in elderly care required.

Responsibilities

• Rota planning and staff scheduling for the home.
• Recruitment and onboarding of new staff; overseeing induction and mandatory training.
• Monitor and manage individual staff performance; address issues through appropriate channels.
• Support the Home Manager with overall Home management.
• Assist with occupancy management and ensuring high standards of care.

Deputy Home Manager

Location: The Lakes Care Centre, South Cerney, Gloucestershire

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Mon-Fri including some on-call responsibility and weekend working.

Salary: £43,000 per annum

Can you combine your exceptional care skills with the commercial acumen needed to manage occupancy levels, care standards and your team in the home?

As Deputy Home Manager, you’ll support the Home Manager with the management of the Home. Specifically, you’ll be responsible for rota planning, employee recruitment and both induction and mandatory training, ensuring that the needs of our residents are recognised, assessed and met where possible. You’ll also monitor and manage individual employee performance to ensure standards are upheld, addressing any issues as they arise through the appropriate channels.

The Lakes is a 64 bed Care Home situated in South Cerney, Cirencester. The home offers Day, Respite, Residential and Dementia care in a comfortable, homely setting. We’re rated 9.8 Carehome.co.uk and Good by the Care Quality Commission.

ABOUT YOU

You’ll have a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and be willing to work towards Level 4 or 5. In addition, you’ll have previous management experience in a elderly care setting with a willingness to roll your sleeves up and work as a proactive team member, together with some marketing and finance experience to help grow occupancy and manage costs. Alongside this, you’ll have excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and will be committed to promoting and developing the highest standards of care.
