Job summary

Petherton Park School in North Petherton seeks a Deputy Headteacher to drive its Ofsted journey from Good to Outstanding. You’ll lead the primary provision, shape the curriculum, safeguarding, and pupil outcomes, while shaping a culture of honesty, empathy, aspiration, respect and teamwork.

You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic education and therapy, recruit and develop staff, manage resources, and support families to help every pupil thrive and reach their full potential.

Qualifications

• Degree and QTS with leadership experience in education.
• Proven ability to lead teams and improve pupil outcomes.
• Experience working with autism or learning disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shape the school’s vision and ethos with the Head of School, ensuring alignment with Ofsted standards.
• Oversee the primary curriculum and safeguarding, acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Lead team development, mentor staff and collaborate across education and therapy services.
• Manage resources and performance to provide a safe, engaging learning environment.
• Recruit, coach and empower colleagues to deliver excellent educational experiences.
