Job summary

Leeds Playhouse is recruiting for a skilled individual to manage lighting and video within our events and entertainment portfolio. As Deputy Head of Lighting & Video you will lead a small team and support our Bramall Rock Void venue and community projects across the city.

You will deliver lighting and video for productions across three venues, collaborate with the production team, and provide technical expertise to visiting companies. 40 hours per week, relocation assistance available.

Job description

We are recruiting for a skilled individual with proven experience of managing lighting and video within the events and entertainment industry, to join us in the role of Deputy Head of Lighting & Video in our Lighting & Video department.

You would be line managed by Head of Lighting & Video and helping to run a team made up of a Senior Lighting & Video Technician and two Lighting & Video Technicians, as well as casuals and freelancers. You will also be part of the team that supports our multiskilled Studio Theatre Technicians in the Bramall Rock Void.

You will be responsible for delivering Lighting and Video for assigned productions in our three venues, community driven projects across our city, and creative projects, managing the team assigned to those productions.

You will be working in collaboration with colleagues across our production department in support of external creative teams, visiting companies, and offering technical expertise.

This is a full-time, permanent contract of 40 hours per week. Evening, weekend and some Public Holiday work will be required due to the nature of the role. Pay for this role is £28,780 per year, plus BECTU/UK Theatre commercial get-outs and overtime payments. 12-week relocation payment is also available for those whose current base is over 40 miles away from Leeds Playhouse.
