Job Description:

Deputy Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing | Transforming Lives Through Safety and Care

Nationwide, with travel to London & Manchester

Are you ready to make a transformative impact on health, safety, and wellbeing across a leading, values-driven organization? This is your chance to step into a pivotal leadership role where your expertise will not only influence policy but also reshape how we think about safety within healthcare services.

As our Deputy Head of Health & Safety & Wellbeing, you won’t just be managing safety protocols—you’ll be leading the way in creating a culture of proactive, life-changing care. You’ll work with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure that health and safety is woven into the fabric of everything we do, from strategic decision-making to the day-to-day experience of every service user and team member.

This isn’t just another job; it’s a role where your leadership will actively shape the future of our services, helping us build a safer, more empowered environment for the people we serve.

The Role

As a Health and Safety Manager, you will embed a culture where safety is a core value, not just a compliance measure. Working across diverse healthcare services, you’ll empower teams to focus on delivering life-changing care and support, backed by robust health and safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Head of H&S to shape and implement innovative, forward-thinking health and safety strategies that drive organizational excellence.
  • Transformational Approach: Lead initiatives that elevate safety culture across diverse services, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both staff and service users are central to everything we do.
  • Impactful Communication: Act as the key advisor to senior leadership, providing expert guidance on complex safety matters and ensuring policies and procedures are understood and embraced at all levels.
  • Team Empowerment: Inspire and mentor a team of H&S professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and shared responsibility.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use your expertise to deliver meaningful insights, ensuring our safety programs are both effective and continuously improving through audits, risk assessments, and targeted interventions.
  • Hands-On Support: Take an active role in the implementation of health and safety initiatives, from training to on-the-ground risk management, ensuring practical application of policies.

About You

  • Proven Experience: You’ve led health and safety programs in complex, multi-site environments, ideally within a healthcare or CQC-regulated setting, and you know how to adapt strategies to fit diverse needs.
  • Strategic Vision: You can see the bigger picture, understanding how safety is integral to the success of the entire organization. But you’re also grounded in practical, hands-on problem solving.
  • Collaborative Leadership: You have the ability to influence and inspire at all levels, building strong relationships with senior leadership, teams, and service users alike.
  • Passionate About People: You care deeply about creating environments where people are safe, supported, and empowered to perform at their best.
  • Relevant Certifications: NEBOSH or equivalent qualification is essential.

Why This Role?

This is more than just a leadership position—it’s a chance to shape the future of health and safety across an organisation that’s committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals. If you’re looking for a role where you can bring your skills and vision to the table and play a central role in driving change, you’ll find this opportunity truly rewarding.

You’ll have the freedom to innovate, lead with purpose, and build a safety-first culture that goes beyond compliance—it’s about empowering people to thrive. And with locations across England, you’ll be part of a growing, dedicated team, all working toward a shared vision of care, safety, and wellbeing.

Be the Difference. Shape the Future. Make real Impact.

If you’re ready to lead with impact and empower teams to deliver safer, better care every day, this is the role for you. Join us and play a vital role in an organisation transforming lives across the UK.
