Salary: £45,787- £47,364. Incremental progression throughout the band is available.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a focused and ambitious Sport and Uniformed Protective Services Department at Eccles Sixth Form College as a Deputy Head of Department. We are looking for a motivated and innovative individual to lead on the academic achievement of our students in support of the Head of Department. Applicants should have an understanding of how the monitoring and tracking of key performance data can inform the ambitious progress of our students. The college offers Sport and Uniformed Protective Services courses from Level 1 to Level 3, with a strong emphasis on high standards and expectations. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate effective use of feedback and assessment methods to promote high levels of student achievement. We would welcome applications from individuals who can drive an enhanced student understanding of sport science concepts and disciplines such as Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition and Sports Injuries and Rehab. They will have a track record of excellent outcomes for students with experience of delivery at Level 3 or above. The successful candidate will benefit from access to brand new state of the art sport science resources here at Eccles College, including an Anatomage Table and Sports Science Lab.

As a department we are looking to build upon our pre-existing links with external stakeholders and partners to further align our rich curriculum with opportunities for students to develop the relevant skills for intended Sport career pathways. As such the successful candidate will need strong communication and interpersonal skill and will have up to date knowledge of the sport subject area and related current issues.
