The opportunity

At University of the Arts London (UAL), we’re internationally renowned for creativity, innovation and diversity. We're now seeking a strategic and inspiring Deputy Head of Admissions to lead our postgraduate admissions function - a critical role in driving an outstanding applicant experience and contributing to the University’s ambitious student recruitment goals.

This senior leadership post offers a meaningful platform to influence strategy, enhance performance and lead change across a complex and dynamic organisation. You’ll oversee postgraduate admissions for Home, EU, and international markets, ensuring a high-quality and efficient process from application through to enrolment.

Working within our Student Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions (SMRA) team, you'll shape admissions policy, lead on operational delivery and champion innovation to improve systems and services.

About you

You’re a solutions-focused, experienced leader in higher education admissions, confident in navigating complexity and driving improvement. You build strong stakeholder relationships and lead with clarity, empathy and purpose.

We’re particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Strategic leadership of a complex admissions function with a strong understanding of HE policy, process and best practice.
  • Expertise across the full postgraduate global applicant journey, from enquiry to enrolment including managing resources and frontline delivery at scale.
  • Proven success in implementing change and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance applicant and staff experiences.
  • An inclusive and empowering leadership style that motivates teams, sets clear goals and builds high-performing cultures.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the political acumen to secure engagement from academic and professional stakeholders.
