Job summary

HotelCare in the UK is seeking a Deputy Head Housekeeper to support the Head Housekeeper in running a busy, high-energy housekeeping department across our hotel portfolio. The role blends hands-on supervision with leadership to improve team productivity and service quality.

You will act as the main contact for the General Manager when the Head Housekeeper is absent, ensure standards, meet daily targets, and contribute to cost control and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in hospitality, with a focus on housekeeping operations.
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Flexible approach to work.
• Hands-on approach and willingness to provide support with cleaning rooms.

Responsibilities

• Working in a fast paced high energy environment assisting the Head Housekeeper with the management of a busy housekeeping department.
• Being the first point of contact for the Hotel General Manager and Senior Management team within the hotel in the absence of the Head Housekeeper.
• Maintaining the standards set by HotelCare and our client at all times.
• Meeting daily targets.
• Commercial awareness and cost control capabilities.
• Complying with all company health and safety policies, and reporting/recording any maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries to ensure adherence to the standards required for QA audits and H&S audits.
