Job summary

Reed Learning, based at Reed Business School in the Cotswolds, is seeking a Deputy Head Gardener on a fixed-term basis to cover family leave. You will work closely with the Head Gardener and the garden team to maintain and enhance our Arts and Crafts garden while leading in the Head Gardener's absence.

You will balance practical horticulture with people leadership, guiding the team to sustain high standards and drive ongoing garden development.

Qualifications

• Broad horticultural knowledge and practical gardening experience.
• Previous experience supervising or leading others.
• Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
• All-rounder mindset with flexibility to tackle varied tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work hands-on across all areas of the garden, maintaining high horticultural standards.
• Support planning, development, and ongoing care of the Arts and Crafts garden.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and support to gardening team members.
• Lead the team and oversee operations in the Head Gardener's absence.
• Contribute ideas to help the garden thrive and evolve.
• Carry out seasonal horticultural tasks including planting, pruning, lawn care, propagation, maintenance.
