Job summary

Wye Valley NHS Trust is seeking a Deputy General Manager for the Unplanned Care Directorate on a nine-month maternity cover. You will lead the administrative and clerical teams, partnering with clinical and nursing leads to maintain high standards of patient care in line with Trust policy.

You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure adherence to the Access Policy and drive KPI delivery, using demand and capacity data to guide decisions and plan staff development.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
• Extensive NHS experience in integrated community services.
• Proven experience as a Support Manager (band 6) or equivalent.
• Experience in service re-design, workforce planning and demand management.
• Experience in financial management and budgetary control.

Responsibilities

• Lead the administrative and clerical teams as the senior point of contact.
• Collaborate with clinical and nursing leads to uphold patient care standards.
• Work with the General Manager to ensure adherence to Access Policy.
• Ensure delivery of Trust KPIs.
• Utilise demand and capacity data to inform decisions.
• Plan development and learning for the administrative team.
• Oversee HR issues through supervision of administrative staff.
