We are seeking a candidate to organise and supervise the unit, ensuring compliance with standards set by Compass Group UK & Ireland, the contract specifications, and statutory regulations. The role involves managing the efficient and effective operation of the unit, delivering quality service, and overseeing food preparation, cooking, and service to meet agreed standards. Responsibilities include resource management, stock control, team leadership, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

More about the role:

  • Understand and deliver all contractual terms
  • Communicate site changes to line manager
  • Maintain regular communication with the client
  • Complete action plans following client satisfaction surveys
  • Promote the unit and act as a Compass Advocate
  • Deliver all client hospitality to the correct standard and upsell to increase revenue
  • Implement company promotions correctly
  • Price products appropriately according to guidelines
  • Identify additional opportunities and discuss with line manager
  • Ensure retail areas are well-stocked
  • Meet customer requirements and manage costs effectively
  • Maintain purchasing compliance and monitor gross profit
  • Accurately record and manage costs and sales
  • Minimize food wastage
  • Communicate customer requirements in advance for effective planning
  • Complete labour scheduling within budget, minimizing agency and overtime costs
  • Adjust labour schedules based on sales
  • Manage budgets and costs effectively

Who you are:

  • Experience working with food and in catering
  • People management skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Operational experience in conference & banqueting sectors
  • Computer literacy
  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate
  • Leadership skills for managing a small team
  • Minimum 3 years catering experience
  • Financial acumen
