A leading company in facilities management is seeking a Deputy FM Manager for Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre. The role involves overseeing maintenance operations, managing a team, ensuring compliance with safety and statutory requirements, and supporting the Facilities Manager. Band 5: Permanent / Full time (40 hours)
Salary: £ 34,000 to £39,000 per annum
Yarl's Wood IRC (Immigration Removal Centre) is a fully contained residential centre housing adult males and adult females for the Home Office. We focus on decency and respect in all aspects of care for our residents and use continuous innovation to further improve and develop our service. Within the centre we accommodate an everchanging population from a variety of backgrounds, all with different faiths, beliefs, and cultural values.
Here at Serco we're looking for a Deputy FM Manager to join our FM Team at Yarl's Wood IRC.
The Deputy FM Manager reports to the FM Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day organisation of work and the allocation of tasks in support of the FM Manager, responsible for the tracking of work progress, stock management, and ensuring that planned and reactive maintenance plans meet the needs of both the operational demands of the establishment as well as the contractual requirements set by the customer. The role acts as the link between the skilled and semi-skilled trades that report to the role and FM management

What you'll need to do the job
This is an opportunity for an individual who has experience both in operational and management roles is desirable with a wide exposure to the total provision of FM services and building infrastructure gained, preferably, in a custodial environment.
Operational knowledge and application of current Health and Safety environmental legislation, quality assurance controls and COSHH requirements is a pre-requisite.
Working experience of CAFM systems.
It is essential that the successful candidate has strong working knowledge of SLAs and KPIs including their creation, concepts and management.
It is important that they are qualified as an Approved Person for permitted work and understanding of how to manage contractors.
It is vital that they have demonstratable experience of managing diverse teams of qualified, skilled, and semi-skilled staff;
Experience of managing workflow and supervising work to achieve desired outcomes in terms of quality and productivity;
A qualification as either an Approved Electrician (JIB) with 18th edition or with City & Guilds or equivalent mechanical qualification e.g. Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, Gas etc. would be useful but not essential.

PC literacy, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
