Job overview

Working as part of the central finance team, the post holder will support the Senior Finance Manager in the delivery of the monthly reporting cycle adhering to both internal and external requirements, and build/maintain key working relationships across the wider finance department to drive change.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide high quality analysis within the central reporting team to support the delivery of appropriate financial reporting and sustainable financial performance.
  • To provide assurance to the Senior Finance Manager of the quality of historic and forecast financial information through completion of analytical review processes.
  • To Support the monthly reporting cycle.
  • To be accountable to the Finance Manager for the adherence to Trust financial policies and procedures, statutory requirements and requirements from Department of Health and NHS England.
  • The post holder must be part qualified with a CCAB or equivalent qualification, and have significant experience within finance and be fully committed to Continuous Professional Development.
  • Processing transactions on behalf of the overall Trust
  • Leading on reconciliations for budgets, ESR and others as required.

Education/ Qualifications

  • CCAB part-qualified accountant or equivalent qualification

Experience

  • Experience of working within the NHS or similar sized organisation
  • Experience of computerised accounting financial systems
  • Experience in accounting e.g. Processing journals
  • Experience of reconciling control accounts
  • Intermediate experience of using Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of managing junior members of staff
  • Experience in team planning and appraisals

Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

  • Knowledge of rules surrounding confidentiality, information governance and the Data Protection Act
  • Knowledge of a range of financial systems
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
