At University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust, we are currently recruiting for an Experienced Deputy Facilities Manager to join our Estates and Facilities Division. The role involves providing hands-on management to the Cleaning and Catering teams at Bristol Royal Infirmary.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your facilities management career within a forward-thinking Division. Our Estates and Facilities Division is committed to making a difference by enabling services, improving operations, and enhancing patient and staff experiences.

The shift pattern is Monday to Friday, with one weekend per month (with 2 days off in lieu). You will work on a 4-week rota, including one week per month with late shifts until 6 pm.

Main duties of the job

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Managing the front-line cleaning teams across wards, clinical areas, departments, and external areas.
  • Conducting investigations, preparing reports, and presenting findings to senior management.
  • Ensuring your team of over 100 staff meet key performance indicators related to cleanliness, food hygiene, and mandatory training.
  • Managing a team of 4 senior supervisors to uphold standards throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate will
  • Have experience managing and motivating large teams in facilities, soft FM, or housekeeping environments.
  • Possess experience in a fast-paced cleaning environment with technical knowledge of cleaning and catering services.
  • Be proactive in exceeding service expectations.
  • Demonstrate resilience and effective management skills.

  • Salary ranging from £29,970 to £36,483 per annum, pro-rata, plus unsocial hours allowance.
