About the Role


We are looking for a Deputy Editor to help shape the future of Cell Reports Medicine. You will support the Editor-in-Chief, manage a team of editors, and contribute to journal strategy. You will also engage with the scientific community, oversee peer review, and help develop editorial content. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in any area related to the topics that Cell Reports Medicine covers, with MDs with extensive research experience also considered. Candidates should have extensive editorial experience, strong communication skills, with an interest in managing a team, engaging with the scientific community, and the ability to work well in diverse team settings.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Editor-in-Chief and manage editorial staff

  • Contributing to journal strategy and development

  • Representing the journal at conferences and events

  • Improving editorial workflows and author experience
