Deputy Domestic Manager

Location: Darent Valley Hospital
Salary: £28000 per annum
Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 this may include nights, weekends and Bank Holidays
Contract Type: Full-Time

Role Summary:

The Deputy Domestics Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Domestics Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping and cleaning services at Darent Valley Hospital. This includes managing a team of domestic assistants, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist the General Manager in the day-to-day management of domestic services.
2. Supervise and motivate a team of domestic assistants, providing training and support as needed.
3. Ensure all areas of the hospital are cleaned to the highest standards.
4. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks.
5. Manage inventory and order cleaning supplies.
6. Handle administrative tasks, including scheduling and payroll.
7. Respond to and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.
8. Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
9. Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience in a supervisory role within a cleaning or housekeeping environment.
2. Strong leadership and people management skills.
3. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
4. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
7. Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings if required.
