Job description

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for an exceptional and experienced Senior Nurse to join the leadership team in the Medicine Division at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.

Our Division of Medicine is a large and diverse Division consisting of Front Door Services, General Internal Medicine, Diagnostics, Medical Specialties, Pharmacy, and Bereavement Services.

We are looking for a dynamic, driven, and passionate registered nurse with experience of leading acute care and emergency care. A professional background in medicine would be advantageous but is not essential, although you will need to develop your knowledge in the clinical services provided by the Division quickly. You will have a proven track record of successfully leading clinical teams, managing change, and putting safety, quality, and patient experience at the heart of everything you do.

To provide professional and clinical leadership to nurses within the division, acting as a role model both in the division and across the trust, ensuring high performance in managerial and clinical practice is both developed and maintained. Leading and contributing to an effective quality improvement work programme as part of the divisional plan and corporate nursing agenda.

Your leadership skills will be utilized throughout changes in the near future, shaping longer-term plans and continuing to support the delivery of high-quality nursing care across a variety of teams.

Our modern hospital is in Swindon, Wiltshire, and we also provide services in primary care and community settings. On the edge of the Cotswolds, there is much to offer in the area with close links to London and Bristol and a huge variety of local villages and towns including Cirencester and Marlborough.

We offer a rewarding opportunity to join our ambitious Trust with a mandate to make a real impact on the outcomes for the people we serve. Whilst our senior leadership team does not yet fully reflect the people we serve, we are absolutely committed to ensuring it will. We will support any successful candidate to be the best version of themselves and would therefore like to encourage applicants from any underrepresented groups.

If you feel that you have the drive, enthusiasm, and resilience to fulfill this high-profile role, we would like to hear from you.
