Job overview
The Deputy Divisional Clinical Director will work with the Divisional Director of Operations (DDO) and Divisional Director of Nursing (DDN) in a triumvirate management structure. The triumvirate are expected to take joint accountability for the Surgery Division (General Surgery, T&O, Ophthalmology, Urology & Pain) including the delivery of agreed local and national quality and performance standards within budgetary and resource limits.
The DDD will also have responsibility for the strategic development of clinical services within this role and with colleagues, the delivery of that strategy. The DDD will ensure that services adopt a continuous improvement approach. Together with the other members of the triumvirate, the DDD will provide clinical leadership to the Division, ensuring that all clinical staff are aligned with the Division's and Trust's objectives and are working in effective multidisciplinary/multi-professional teams.
The DDD will work with the Clinical Directors to ensure that robust systems for clinical governance are implemented and maintained for all services. In particular, the appointee will review outcome data (from GIRFT and National audits) and use this to drive their quality improvement agenda.
