Job Description:

The Talent Set is delighted to be partnering with Tommys to recruit a new Deputy Director of Public Fundraising. Tommy's is the UK’s leading pregnancy research charity, funding ground-breaking research to ensure safer pregnancies and to better understand the causes of pregnancy complications and baby loss.

Role Details:

  • Salary: £60,000 - £64,000, dependent on experience
  • Hybrid working: minimum 2 days per week in London

Over the past 30 years, Tommys has shaped national healthcare guidelines, made progress in addressing pregnancy loss and health inequalities, and advocates for systemic change in maternity care. Their mission is to prevent the heartbreak of baby loss and make pregnancy and birth safe for all.

They seek an experienced public fundraising leader to join their newly formed Marketing and Engagement department. The role involves developing and growing their supporter base through individual giving, community, and sporting events.

As Deputy Director, you'll lead a high-performing team (3 direct reports), aiming to increase income from approximately £4m to £6m over five years. You'll work closely with marketing teams to ensure excellent supporter experience and develop strategies to expand supporter engagement and retention.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing public fundraising activities and driving income growth
  • Leading and developing the team
  • Collaborating with marketing to strategize supporter acquisition and retention
  • Enhancing supporter journeys and loyalty

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in public fundraising, especially individual giving and mass participation events
  • Strategic, creative, and innovative leadership skills
  • Data-driven approach and experience with audience insight research
  • Proven success in growing income and donor bases
  • Motivational leadership qualities
