Job Description:

We are seeking a Band 8D Deputy Director of the Estates and Facilities Service based in Croydon. This initial 8-month role involves overseeing the quality and delivery of patient services, supporting staff, and maintaining the environment, reporting to the Director of Estates and Facilities.

The role requires extensive expertise in NHS environments, with responsibilities including:

  1. Strategic leadership of facilities teams
  2. Provision of high-quality care and acting as a Patient Environment Advocate
  3. Improving value for money, costs, and efficiency
  4. Staff and patient liaison
  5. Ensuring a safe, clean, and high-quality environment
  6. Providing professional advice to executives, senior managers, and stakeholders, including policy interpretation and application
  7. Managing staff accommodation effectively
  8. Developing and reviewing operational risk registers and incident management plans, with robust risk mitigation strategies
  9. Ensuring compliance with NHS and industry guidance and legislation
  10. Managing contracted services to meet standards, deliver quality, and achieve performance targets
