Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS FT is recruiting for a Deputy Clinical Safety Officer to work with the Clinical Safety Officers in delivering risk management across the Trust as digital systems are implemented.

The role requires a practising clinician with senior status and registration, with deep knowledge of digital clinical systems and their impact on patient safety. You will engage with UHS Digital and hospital leadership to drive safety through system changes.

Qualifications

• Practising clinician with senior position and current registration (GMC or NMC).
• Experience using digital clinical systems including electronic patient records.
• In-depth knowledge of digital healthcare systems and human factors impacting patient safety.
• Experience in risk management/clinical safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead on clinical risk management across the Trust with the CSO and CIOs.
• Provide guidance and support to UHS Digital on clinical risk management practices.
• Support clinical risk activities during system development, implementation, modification or decommissioning.
• Establish robust processes to identify and address patient safety risks with digital systems.
