About The Role

Helston Community College, part of Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, is excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced and committed individual to join our dedicated Pastoral Team as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. This is a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Share responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the College.
  • Participate in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings.
  • Contribute to the assessment of children and young people.
  • Provide advice and support to staff on child welfare and protection matters.
  • Liaise effectively with external agencies including the local authority and Police.
What We’re Looking For
  • Is confident and able to build strong relationships with students aged 11 – 18.
  • Holds a Safeguarding Level 3 qualification (or is willing to work towards it).
  • Has excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Can work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Has recent experience working in a safeguarding role.
