An established independent school is seeking a dedicated Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure a safe environment for students. Salary: £27,000 to £31,500, depending on experience
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm (except Tuesdays to 5pm), Term Time only

Gretton School is an independent specialist school for children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, specifically high functioning autism. We welcome students from 5—19 years old, as weekly boarders or as day students. Based just outside Cambridge, we work with 12 counties to provide a broad and individualised education for these unique and wonderful students. Your new role:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. This crucial position supports the Designated Safeguarding Lead in ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
The main responsibilities include assisting the Designated Safeguarding Lead in managing and responding to all safeguarding and child protection issues, and supporting staff in addressing any child protection concerns. You will handle mandatory recording, reporting, and responding to safeguarding matters, fostering a culture of safety in line with national guidelines.
You will attend meetings for identified children, represent the school’s views, and collaborate with internal and external professionals as per safeguarding procedures. Additionally, you will aid in training staff on safeguarding principles, ensuring swift adaptation to updates in the ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ document.
