Job description

Deputy Data & Business Intelligence Manager

To deputise for and provide managerial support to the Data & Business Intelligence Manager and/or Head of Data, BI & Systems when required. Helping customers articulate their information requirements and advising on how data can support business processes and decision-making. Leading and supporting analytical development through tools such as SQL Server, Tableau, SSIS, and Excel to extract, transform, query, and present data.

Responsibilities include managing BI support for various departments, providing authoritative guidance on analytical solutions, ensuring compliance with policies, and undertaking data analysis, modeling, and transformation based on business needs. Developing and maintaining complex data extraction and reporting solutions, proactively pursuing new technical solutions, and liaising with other Informatics teams.

Line management of Data Analysts and Catalogue Managers, including recruitment, training, professional development, and planning. Delegating duties and following up on outcomes. Participating in appraisal processes, attending meetings, and liaising effectively with stakeholders. Ensuring professional behaviour aligns with SGUH standards and codes of conduct, managing HR issues, and maintaining discipline.

Supporting annual leave and training coordination, maintaining KPIs to measure and improve team performance, and providing relevant training for staff and stakeholders. Maintaining key relationships to ensure efficient service delivery. This description is not exhaustive and may change according to service needs.
