Job Description:

The Deputy Construction Manager supports the Construction Manager in coordinating site activities and managing communication on site. They also support managing the project installation team and relevant sub-suppliers for successful delivery. They are responsible for building a trust-based relationship with the client`s representatives. They participate in monitoring and controlling via site progress reports and tracking installation-related issues. The role will be based out of our Heathrow office with the need to travel to other sites when needed.

  • Provides preliminary input to the project time schedule and contributes continuously with input from relevant stakeholders such as Supervisors, sub-suppliers, etc.
  • Manage resource availability at the site.
  • Input to delivery of materials.
  • Responsible for the receipt of goods on site and storage.
  • Ensure that RAMS are implemented by the installation teams.
  • Ensure an appropriate working environment in terms of safety and quality assurance.
  • Participate in meetings with the customer, architect, consultant, building contractor, local sub-suppliers, etc.
  • Facilitate site meetings with BEUMER Group employees and suppliers.
  • Assist in preparation of work permits.
  • Plan and coordinate all site activities and sequence of work, including third-party suppliers and other trades working in the area to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Provide input to internal and external progress reports.
  • Review installation progress reports from relevant sub-contractors, e.g., steelwork sub-contractor.
  • Update and track site-related issues.
  • Ensure that all Level 6 checklists are filled out and signed without defects.
  • Facilitate structured handover to commissioning.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working on construction projects from start to end (small to large scale).
  • Knowledge of construction methods, understanding technical drawings, and scheduling methods.
  • Risk assessment/management.
  • Degree or NVQ in engineering or related field is preferred.
