Job Profile Summary

Assist the Senior Cargo and Specie Underwriters with underwriting and management of the Cargo and Specie portfolio, focusing on growing the Cargo account.

Job Responsibilities

1. Negotiate renewals and new business within authority and budget goals.
2. Use pricing models for risk assessment and premium calculation; review and adjust model outputs.
3. Agree on endorsements, amendments, and lines within authority.
4. Accept declarations, endorsements, and referrals as per policies.
5. Engage in proactive marketing to meet targets.
6. Build and maintain client relationships, including potential foreign travel.
7. Develop market reputation and participate in projects.
8. Maintain accurate records and client files.
9. Assist in preparing reports and deputize for the Class Underwriter as needed.
10. Conduct peer reviews and ensure data accuracy in systems.
11. Coordinate with administration and claims departments.
12. Report issues to senior management and liaise with clients and colleagues.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in marine insurance and underwriting.

• Understanding of business planning.
