Deputy Children's Home Manager

Location: Derby

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Children's Home Manager to join our team in Derby. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in residential children's services and a passion for providing high-quality care and support to children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Children's Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the home.
  2. Ensure the highest standards of care are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  3. Support and mentor a team of residential care workers.
  4. Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child.
  5. Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all residents.
  6. Handle administrative tasks such as staff rotas, budgeting, and record-keeping.
  7. Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
  8. Actively promote progression within the company and support staff through training and development.

Requirements:
  1. Minimum 2 years' experience in residential children's services.
  2. Strong leadership and management skills.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  4. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  5. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required.
  6. Relevant qualifications in residential childcare (preferred but not essential, as the company will support you in obtaining these).
