Children Deputy Manager-Respite Service-Nottingham-£40K
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Contract: Monday- Friday- 37.5 hours a week

Are you ready to take the next step in your career in children s residential care? We are looking for a committed and experienced Deputy Manager to support the running of a small, 1-bed respite home for children and young people with additional or complex needs in Nottingham.

About the Role:

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to provide safe, nurturing, and high-quality short-term care. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop leadership skills in a supportive, person-centred environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day management of the home and ensure compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding standards
  • Supervise and mentor care staff, promoting high standards of professional practice
  • Contribute to care planning and ensure children s emotional and physical needs are met
  • Maintain a child-focused approach and positive relationships with families and external agencies
  • Take part in on-call duties and support the Registered Manager with audits, reports, and quality assurance

Skills & Experience Required:

  • At least 2 years experience in a residential children s care setting
  • Previous experience in a senior or team leader role
  • Working towards or hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted standards, and children s rights
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
  • A compassionate, calm, and resilient approach to care
