Job Title: Childcare Supervisor

Staff are key to our success; therefore, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate skills and knowledge acquired through professional practice to ensure the delivery of a legislatively compliant childcare service. This service should support children’s all-round development, provide high standards of care, and deliver excellent customer care.

The individual will be responsible for assisting in managing a Childcare staff team delivering solutions to staff and students at Queen's University within a Care and Education (Educare) setting. The role ensures the setting operates within the legislative framework and supports the University in achieving Strategy 2030.

Candidate Requirements:
  • QCF Level 5 Diploma in Childcare Learning and Development or Playwork; OR registration with a recognized training provider to complete QCF Level 5 within 12 months of appointment; OR a relevant occupational qualification in early years education, social work, nursing, teaching, or health visiting.
  • At least 2 years' experience working with children aged 0-11 years.
  • Significant supervisory experience in a childcare setting, including direct supervision of staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of Children (NI) Order 1995 and Childminding and Daycare Standards (July 2012).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to operational issues such as staffing rotas and management information analysis.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office.
